This charming cove, with its deep tidal pool and multi-coloured bathing huts, is well protected from summer's south easterly winds.

* Rhodes Cottage, outside the village on the road to Muizenberg, is an unpretentious thatched seaside home where Cecil John Rhodes died in 1902.  Today the cottage houses a museum containing many of the famous pioneer's personal possessions.

* The Boardwalk is a level coastal footpath that runs between St James and muizenberg, alongside the Cape Town-Simon's Town railway line.
